There are no quick~picker~uppers
It always hits me when I have SO many priorities
When life is most overwhelming
I drink, the sweet juice and hope
that it will help me find a smile at the bottom of each glass
But the smile is NEVER there,
only room for more tears
Another day when I want to pull the covers over my head
and scream out "Fuck da world!"
No one sees me cry when I drive on the highway, or cross the bridge,
or even on the crowded subway
I'm a great actress, but the mask is beginning to crack
I force myself to face life, and pretend that everything is
alright
